Defensive Driving Course

Keen to be a safe driver and to get your full licence sooner?

The defensive driving course ensures new car drivers can learn to spot potential hazards on the road. The defensive driving course reduces the 18 month driving period required to 12 months for those drivers under 25 years old (or 6 months down to 3 months for 25+ years old). Drivers on a restricted or a learner licence are eligible for the course, however we recommend you gain the experience of attaining your restricted licence before you undertake the course which is based on a good level of driver knowledge.

This NZTA approved Defensive Driving Course includes:

  • Four theory sessions of 2 hours each
  • Personal driving assessment.

This interactive course, with a workbook to keep, will help you to improve your ability to anticipate potential hazards that exist on the roads. All courses are subject to minimum numbers and confirmed places following the payment of course fees ($195.00).
