Behind the wheel
Based in South Canterbury since 2009, Advance Driver Training is the preferred driving school for many families with calm and firm guidance on best practice styles of driving.
We offer a range of services, from lessons focusing on first-time driving, to gaining your confidence back, or handling a new aspect of driving or parking.
Whether learning to manoeuvre a trailer, learning how to parallel park, or learning to drive on a manual car with clutch control, our instructor can help you!
There are simple techniques to help overcome those tricky situations for all drivers, whether 16 or 76! Having taught a couple of septuagenarian ladies to parallel park recently, they were delighted as they had never had the confidence to try it, having never been shown how to do it properly!
A teen driver had her confidence shaken badly by poor instruction, and yet after a lesson with our instructor, she went on to pass her test successfully the following week!
Whether learning on a manual or automatic, we have a car for you to learn on, or you can use your own car.
Neville is patient and calm, and it shows with his referrals. We have been delighted to assist multiple siblings from many families. Our referrals come from satisfied customers to other families.
We also have many overseas students who have little or no experience of driving, and need to progress their licences.
Pre-licence Evaluation Lesson
Nervous about your approaching test?
Has your confidence taken a serious knock from someone's careless words?
This is an hour long assessment to assess your driving at any time. It can help to give you confidence and areas to work on, before booking the test.
We can also offer one hour lessons just before the test if you need to get "into the driving frame of mind", and many students find this is especially helpful to prepare them for taking their driving tests.
